Type Locality and Naming

Lithology and Thickness

Siltstone. Comprise greenish siltstone, phyllite and quartzite with lenses of limestone. >500 to 3000 m thick

Lower contact

Conformable with underlying the Bilju Fm.

Upper contact

Unconformable (angular unconformity) with the overlying Ralam Fm.

Fossils

Trilobite: Redlichia sp. (Kackar and Srivastava, 1996; Jamwal et al., 1990; Myrow et al., 2018). Trace fossils are Planolites sp., P. serpense; P. vergatus; P. reticulates; ?Chondrite sp. (Jamwal et al., 1990)


Age 

Cambrian (and maybe latest Precambrian). No specific age within the Cambrian system is assigned. Considering it is up to 3 km thick of clayey siltstone, then shown as extending to base-Cambrian for graphic purposes.
